52 Years Old and Never Turned On!
Brand spanking new - so new it has never been plugged in let alone turned on.
In 1967, during the Cold War, the federal government commissioned a Canadian manufacturer to fabricate a quantity of medical field hospital lights on behalf of the Canadian Armed Forces. Beautifully made, light, articulated and simplistically functional, these lamps were easily transported, assembled and utilized.
This particular unit, although manufactured in 1967, is fresh out of the box and has only been assembled to be photographed. Small and compact, it would make an ideal reading light or could be used to illuminate artwork or architectural features in any residence or commercial setting. The height is adjustable from 4 to 7ft. and the unit turns off and on via a conveniently located toggle switch. The shade tilts up and down and from side to side to any angle with ease by manipulating the centrally located handle. Similar units have sold online for $950 - this one just $599.

Moroccan Déjà View
I enjoyed making the first variant so much I created a followup to my original Moroccan concept. This one differs in that it has been chain-mounted to its canopy rather than attached via a solid stem. It does, however, wear the same buffed and polished steel-finished shade embellished with elements of vintage brass, but totally different ones.
As with the first version, it throws its lovely perforated pattern on both walls and ceiling. All electrical components are new. Very easy to mount. A definite eye magnet - just $599.

Custom Made Moroccan-style Pendant
Newly created Moroccan-style pendant fixture comprised of vintage brass lamp elements and a perforated bare metal shade. Shade opens for placement of any standard 60W or Edison-style bulb.
Turned off and on via pull switch suspended from base of shade.
Hangs at a length of 29 inches (additional 5 inches with pull chain) and stretches 7.5 inches across. Exclusively one of a kind, like all the pieces I create, here in the city - sorry - this one’s sold.

So Rich in Detail, This Chandelier Would Make a Jeweler Proud
I am an artist who expresses his creativity through the design and fabrication
of one-of-a-kind light fixtures. I source interesting vintage and modern lights,
disassemble them, and from the multitude of pieces they provide, create new,
unique, functional, and I’d like to think, visually exciting works of art.
An assemblage of primarily vintage brass elements, this chandelier’s subtly blended with accents of copper and drenched with well in excess of 200 crystal prisms - each radiating with the warmth of 5 modern Edison-type bulbs.
From top to bottom, it hangs at just over 40 inches but could be adjusted to accommodate a lower ceiling - its width is a maximum of 15 inches.
The significant time and effort afforded in the creation of this one-off and original piece are reflected in its price - $2,900.

Unique and original English Movie Fixture
This fully functional and adjustable British studio/theatre light was manufactured by the Strand Electric Company and imported to Canada in the 1960s/70s. This particular unit was
factory painted matt black and is newly mounted on a bare metal, American made Matthews stand. I have
modified the unit by converting it to household bulb use and added a Mole
Richardson support cradle with rope tie for cable storage. The collapsible, wheeled stand has been disassembled,
cleaned and polished and extends upward to a
height of 9ft. Strand movie lights are rarely found here with any
stand.
The fixture is illuminated via a new off/on toggle switch and features an adjustable, aspherical glass lens which modifies its beam from spot to flood. It has 4 movable interior baffles to control the light’s intensity.
This fixture would compliment any interior whether residential or commercial - it would make an ideal reading lamp or could be used to highlight architectural features or artwork.
I have another identical unit painted in factory original metallic silver - either one, $525.

The VARI•BEAM brand (still in existence) was manufactured by Photogenic Machine Co. of Ohio. This unit turns off and on via a heavy duty, encased in aluminum 50’s era flick switch.
Ideal reading light or for highlighting art or architectural features.
Ornate and handsome piece - $750
